I am a 39 year old. A wife and a mother of 3. June 2, 2001 I was cooking on the stove. When I got electricuted. The stove was not grounded properly by the maitance man in our apt. I was touching with my left hand an iron skillet, with my right I was touching the fridge. For about 6 to 8 sec I was held there. Investigation from the electritions and engeineers showed that I have recieved aprox. 220 volts, and astonishing 38 mil amps. They told me that 5 mil amps was enough to kill a person. I was paralized for one hour after the accident then few days later I was temperaily paralized for two days. I have seizures, twitching and shaking all over my body. I am very senstive to light, noise, and touch. I also have curling in my hands, and feet. Vibrations and tingiling in my hands and legs. I also have vibration in my brain short term memory loss, bad focus. We saw specialits, neruoligists in Penn State University Hospital, and in Jefferson Hospital in Philly. We saw John Hopkins in Baltimore for a few days. Many other Doctors as well. In Hopikns they diagnosed me with Post tramatic stress syndromn. They told me that all these abnormalities are coming from the brain. That it is not mental because I saw few phyciatrists and they told me that I am mentaly fine. Which I knew because I am not scared to cook on the stove. I don't have fear. But, Hopkins doctors could not see and explain abnormality from the brain.

My name is Abe Nielsen and on 10/25/2001 I was shocked with 575 VAC for about 7 - 10 sec. I have recived every test in the book and the doctors can't tell me why I am still having chronic migraines and extreme light sensitivity. Please if any one could share with me what they have learned about dealing with simular problems, contact me. I fear that I may never return to my regular life.
If any body knows is there any other testings besides MRI and EEG that you know that can show problems that I have? We are now living in the state of Kansas. Is there any doctor here that would be able to help me. I know from Menasana clinic is in Maryland. But I am not in good condition to travel there. By the way John Hopkins never mentioned to me about doctor Hendler. Thank you very much.

Yes, there are many other tests that can be done to identify potential brain injuries from electrical shock. I am sorry to hear that would have difficulty traveling, but perhaps we could have Dr. Hendler review your medical records and see if he could make recommendations for further testing.
Sadly, it is true there are very few doctors who understand anything about electrical shock survivors.
By the way, or you a member of Lightning Strike and Electrical Shock Survivors, International? If not, please feel free to send your address to info@mensanaclinic.com and I will gladly send you an information packet.
I am glad that you found our site.
