My husband was electrocuted while at work in January of 1998. He was hit with 70 amps and is lucky to be alive. The electricity entered his left index finger with no exit. He has a massive amount of nerve damage in his shoulders, neck and down his spine. He did lose his finger immediately from the shock and last summer the remaining fingers all dislocated while he was picking himself up from sitting on the floor. The doctor initially didn't believe the dislocation was caused in this way. They could only stabilize his middle finger by putting pins in his nuckles. The pins resulted in an infection that caused another amputation. He also lives with chronic pain, leg spasms, depression, headaches, memory loss and insomnia to mention a few. He has had stelloid ganglion nerve blocks, flouroscopic injections..and other treatments too many too mention. This was a real blow for my husband because this was his first "real" job after dealing with a previous injury to his right hand that occurred in 1976 that resulted in thirty operations. Right now, the WC insurance company has terminated his disability benefits and we'll be going to court next month. I know these insurance company's have human beings that work for them, but they can be heartless people. I don't know how they can feel good about their work knowing they put so much more pressure on families that are dealing with a trauma already.
you know isn't it amazing how most dr's who do not see an entrance and exit site could not possibly think that there is anything wrong with us or that electric could do damage to the body like that. i too suffer from the things you listed and alot of others, i also have had numerous blocks and so forth with no relief. you know i classify the idiots at wc the same as the worthless gutless heartless defense attnys who are merely out to suggest we are after money only and nothing at all happened to us and that electric does not cause an injury. they cannot possibly believe how it destroys our life , our well being and our outlook on life. but you know sorry to say but there are lots of out there who has to share our information with others to help us and them gain victory against the wc and the other cases out there against ins.co., electric co's and so forth. thanks for the insight.
