After 3 yrs & a dozen Drs. My newest Dr has suggested steriod injections, placed next to the spine. This has to be done in an OR(same day surg), Has anyone had this done? What are the risks?? I had a Dr recomend a BoTox(botulisim toxin)injection before, but my 2nd opinoin said "NO", the musscle is already damaged & weak (even know it is always in spasm), & botox deadens the musscle for 3-9mos. Thus weakening the musscle even more. Anybody ever had either one done??

Monica,

If your still out there. My husband had steriod injections. They did 3, 6 weeks apart. They helped just a little bit. However, we were told that many respond well. He did not. Now they are talking about burning the nerves close to the spine so he cannot feel the pain. We just found out about the Mensana Clinic in Baltimore, Md. We are going to try that. If I can answer anything else, contact me at jtsmith@cac.net. If you just need to talk, that's o.k. to.
